Liquor Liability

Founders has been serving the hospitality industry for over 50 years. Insuring Chicago dance halls in the early 1960’s, Founders used an application asking how frequently the orchestra played! Today we write monoline liquor liability insurance in 18 states. Five decades of experience allows for flexibility in risk acceptance, too. Your most troublesome characteristics, such as late closings, prior claims, new ventures, live entertainment or special events aren’t troublesome for Founders. Pricing is based upon our own historical loss data–which allows us to be more competitive in certain classes of business.

In most states, the liquor liability coverage is offered up to $1,000,000 per occurrence / $2,000,000 aggregate limits. Except where required by law, assault and battery coverage is excluded, but an endorsement may be purchased in various limits up to the $1,000,000 per-occurrence policy limit for additional premium.

Founders provides the online capabilities you expect and the personal service you need for underwriting and binding risks. As an agent, you have access 24/7/365 to Founders’ Point of Sale rater, which allows you and your underwriters limited surcharging and discounting authority on risks. You can also submit risks for quoting to Founders’ commercial underwriters, who utilize the same quoting system. Our commercial underwriters can also be reached via email, telephone, and live chat on this website.

Service following purchase of the policy is equally important. Founders’ claim adjusters not only have the investigation skills necessary to track sometimes transient witnesses like bartenders and waitresses, but they also know the science of toxicology which is extremely important to properly defending policyholders against liquor liability claims. Furthermore, they understand that policyholders often want latitude to attempt to resolve minor claims on their own.
